Why Is EDDHA Iron Chelate Different?

The availability of iron to plants depends not only on the total amount of iron present in the soil, but also on the form of iron and its stability under soil conditions.

Especially in high-pH and calcareous soils, iron can lose its availability to plants and become converted into less soluble forms. EDDHA chelation technology keeps iron in a more stable complex across a wide pH range, supporting efficient iron utilization by plants.

One of the most important characteristics of EDDHA is its isomeric composition. In particular, the ortho-ortho (o-o) isomer ratio is an important quality indicator when evaluating the ability of EDDHA to maintain iron stability under high-pH conditions.

Therefore, 6% iron content alone is not sufficient to determine product quality. In addition to the total iron content, the EDDHA isomer profile, particularly the ortho-ortho ratio, as well as the pH and lime level of the soil should be considered together.

This approach demonstrates that the quality and effectiveness of EDDHA-chelated iron products should be evaluated not only by their iron percentage, but also by the structure and stability of the chelating agent.

Upon completion of the REACH registration process, our objective is to ensure the full regulatory compliance of the substance with European Union requirements and to secure its sustainable commercialization within the EU market.

With the cooperation of AGROCERT – TÜV AUSTRIA, the CE Certification process under Module D1 has been initiated for our products.
